Hongzhao’s standard MOQ for custom outdoor bags is 50 pieces per style and color. Regular samples usually take 3–7 days, depending on the sample-making processes required. First bulk orders usually take 25–30 days and repeat orders 20–25 days after payment is received. Shipping is scheduled separately. This guide explains the costs, approvals and conditions to confirm for your project.

What MOQ actually means (and why it varies)
Our standard bulk-production MOQ is 50 pieces of one style in one color. Different colors cannot be combined to meet one 50-piece minimum. Confirm these details when preparing your order:
- Quantity per style and color. List each combination separately. A request for 10 bags is handled as a sample order.
- Custom-dyed colors. Customer-specified dyed fabric colors have a separate MOQ, confirmed for the requested material and color.
- Logo and components. Applicable logo setup and tooling fees are quoted separately; they do not remove the finished bag MOQ.
Send your quantity breakdown, material preferences and color references so we can review the applicable requirements. See our MOQ and final quotation rules.
The sampling stage: where programs succeed or fail

1. Counter / proto sample
A first physical sample helps confirm construction, size and appearance. A regular sample usually takes 3–7 days after payment is received, depending on the sample-making processes required. Tooling usually takes 10–12 days; projects involving tooling use a separately confirmed sampling schedule. Tooling time is not automatically added to, or included in, regular sample time.
2. Revised sample
Customer-requested structural changes without size changes cost USD 50–80 per revised sample, depending on complexity. Size changes are charged as a normal first sample. If a factory-made sample does not meet the confirmed requirements, we will remake the sample free of charge. This correction policy does not automatically include free shipping or compensation for other orders. See our sample revision policy.
3. Pre-production (PP) sample
Confirm the approved sample and agreed specifications before bulk production. After sample approval, the final bulk quotation is recalculated using the approved materials, dimensions, structure, logo, workmanship and packing requirements. An initial reference price is not a locked bulk-production price.
Sample costs depend on materials, the logo method and the development work required. Pattern development, applicable logo setup, tooling or mould work, and shipping are quoted separately when required. Pay the sample fee and applicable setup or tooling fees before sampling starts. Once cumulative orders reach 1,000 pieces, the sample fee can be refunded or credited toward bulk production under the agreed project terms. Confirm which charges are covered. See sample costs and payment requirements.
Production lead times
After sample approval and final quotation confirmation, agree the production schedule. Production time is counted from receipt of payment:
- First bulk order: usually 25–30 days.
- Repeat bulk order: usually 20–25 days.
- Shipping: confirmed separately according to the transport method and destination.
Sampling, tooling, production and shipping are separate stages. Confirm the actual project sequence rather than applying a fixed total duration to every bag. See our sampling and production lead times.
How to lower MOQ without taking on risk
- Use available materials and colors when suitable for your requirements; confirm separate minimums for custom-dyed colors.
- Plan at least 50 pieces for each style-and-color combination. Shared materials do not mean mixed colors can meet one 50-piece MOQ.
- Use a sample order to evaluate the design before committing to bulk production; 10 pieces remain a sample order.
Red flags in MOQ and sampling
- A quotation that does not identify the quantity for each style and color.
- A sample charge that does not distinguish applicable development, logo setup, tooling and shipping costs.
- A preliminary price presented as final before the sample is approved.
- A lead-time promise that does not separate sampling, production and shipping.
Before you commit, it’s worth verifying the factory itself — capacity, certifications and quality process.
A pre-order checklist
- Confirmed dimensions, structure, materials, colors, logo and packing requirements
- Quantity for each style and color, including any custom-dyed color minimum
- Sample scope and any requested revisions
- Sample, setup, tooling and shipping charges, with agreed fee-credit terms
- Final quotation recalculated after sample approval
- Sampling, production and shipping schedules recorded separately
